Whiteway is a small town that is the home of a well-known “shag rock” providing a scenic view in our bay. It can be viewed from a Lookout in the center of the town.

Whiteway currently has the following services: water tower with treated water and sewer, street lights, snow clearing and weekly garbage collection.

There are several organizations including the volunteer fire department, recreation, and 50+ and heritage committees.

Our business amenities consist of heritage sites, a nine hole golf course, a general store, several efficiency units, cabins and a chalet. There is a automotive garage, kitchen cabinet shop, a boat building company, plumbing and carpentry businesses, hair salon, art studio, Postal Service, volunteer fire department, town office and Memorial building.

In the Town also exhibits Jimmy Rowes Pond with a walking trail and boat launch, which navigates around the pond across Brooks and streams with rest stops, including benches and picnic tables for the public to enjoy. A swimming area, playground, games court, and softball field, as well as a community garden and greenhouse. There is a floating dock, a wharf and boat dock that are all maintained by the local Harbour Authority. Many people come during the summer to enjoy the food fishery. There are parks close by, where tourist come to visit as well during the summer months.

A memorial site and ceremony is held in honour of the veterans who have served in the wars, are celebrated on November 11, each year. Least we forget.

The town is managed by a council, consisting of five counsellors, a deputy mayor, a mayor, Town manager and two maintenance employees. In the summer we hire students to assist in our summer activities which includes a Whiteway Days held at the end of July each year.

Andrews United Church also provides weekly church services in the town.
