Whiteway Fifty Plus Club
The Whiteway Fifty Plus Club came about as a result of a membership list that was collected at the Whiteway Community Seniors’ Party in December of 2011. Albert Legge circulated a paper asking interested members to sign up and from the interest shown, a meeting was held on January 12, 2012
The Club was incorporated on February 6, 2012.
Meetings are held on Thursday nights from September to June every year, with a business meeting approximately once a month and weekly activity nights for the rest of the Thursday nights.
Weekly activities include cards, darts, floor curling, plus any other activities that catch the fancy of the members as well as a lunch of toast and tea .
We usually break for Christmas at which time we get together for a Christmas Party, sometimes jointly with the Cavendish 50+ Club. Our last outing before summer is usually a barbecue or other seasonal celebration with salads and refreshments supplied by members. We also hold a garden party during the Whiteway Days celebrations.
In 2020 the Club sponsored the construction of the Whiteway Community Garden and that project has been a summer highlight ever since and is still growing.
The Club accepts membership from any residents fifty years and older who are from Whiteway or have family connections to Whiteway and who would enjoy the social activities and other activities offered by the Club. New members are always welcome. Please contact any member for further details.
Information on the Whiteway Fifty Plus Club will be posted on a regular basis.
The Club will be resuming activities this fall starting September 19th at 7:30 pm.
