Some facts about Whiteway

Services provided by the town include treated water distribution that is tested daily to ensure safe and healthy water delivery, town sewer, streetlights, snow clearing and weekly garbage collection. Water is also provided through a modern Public Water Dispensing Unit that delivers purified drinking water.

We have a very active Volunteer Fire Department whose members take pride in their work and are available around the clock to provide our residents with their services.

We also have very active Recreation, 50 Plus, and Heritage Committees that pull together with our town manager to organize events for all age groups to enjoy. They contribute immensely to the development of our town to be a wonderful place to live and raise a family or to kick back and enjoy retirement. We encourage everyone to join in and participate in the various events hosted by the town and committees throughout the year.

Our business amenities consist of a 9 hole golf course, a general store, several efficiency units and chalets, all with breathtaking views. There are automotive garages, a kitchen/cabinet shop, a boat building / construction company, plumbing and carpentry businesses, hair salon, art studios, Canada Post postal service,  Town Office, and Memorial Building.

The town also is proud of it’s fine Jimmy Rowes Walking Trail which navigates around the pond, crossing brooks and streams with rest stops including benches and picnic tables along the way. The trail guides you back to a well kept swimming area where you can relax and take a dip on a hot summer day. We also have a well maintained playground, games court and softball field as well as a new community garden and greenhouse for residents to use to grow their own vegetables. There is a floating dock, government wharf and boat launch that are all maintained by the local Harbour Authority.
